Love Oneself by CC

When you say "I Love You" to your loved ones, wife/husband, partner, friends, children, parents, brother, sister - what do you actually mean? Do you say you love them because it's a common thing, something you have to say, or just a sentence you hear in movies and songs? Do you really mean it? Do you really know what love means?

Have you ever asked yourself, “Do I love myself?” You probably answered it "Of course!"

How do you know that you love yourself?

First, define Love.

"Love is PATIENT, love is KIND. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking. It is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It ALWAYS protects, trusts, hopes, preserves."

So, when you say "Of course" you love yourself, does the above description reflect in you? Do you still get angry easily? Do you still talk about others’ wrong-doings? Do you still think negatively about yourself? Are you still jealous of other's accomplishments? Are you still suspicious of others? Do you give up easily? etc...

We can't possibly love others if we don't love ourselves first. Only you can change your attitude, only you can change the negativity to positivity IN YOU. Never expect others to do it for you, ONLY YOU can do it. And YOU CAN.

We all have our own path in life; never compare yours with others. We create our own destiny - don't try to copy paste from others. You have your own strength and power within you to be a better person, to achieve what you want in life. To always be positive. To always be thankful. To always love yourself. When you finally love yourself, when you know your value and goals in life, when you are always grateful for what you have, then, only then, can you love others.

So, when you tell someone that you love them, please think again: do you really? Love is a VERB. Without action, it's merely a word.
